Knowledge Service Center (KSC) is today a part of that offer and specialized on applications for high strength steels. One of the main tasks within the KSC is to work close to the customer in joint projects where the knowledge about steel and how to best utilize their potential is provided by SSAB whereas the customer often know their products best and how their customers utilize them. These projects are often very successful and beneficial for both parties. In order to be in the forefront and develop the market for high strength steels a lot of R&D and development of our products is conducted within SSAB as well as with external partners. SSAB is today the leading steel producer with high focus on products with high quality often delivered with a soft package and knowhow, which makes SSAB unique in the steel world today.
SSAB and Knowledge Service Center are looking for a coworker within Wear technology.
About the position
Wear Technology is a specialist group that provides advanced customer support in the area of wear. The group supports mainly the brand Hardox and is a part of the market development organization called Knowledge Service Center. The Knowledge Service Center is SSAB’s advanced customer support and here you will work with other technical specialists, salespeople and application engineers. The goal is common: To enable our customers to build light and stronger products that is more durable.
As a specialist, you like to analyze results and create reports about conclusions and recommendations. You also provide feedback and input regarding the desired properties in order to raise the competitiveness of the product. Since we build the markets together with our customers, you will manage strategic development activities to support new opportunities, plan and coordinate testing and analyzes of new products. From time to time, you initiate and participate in research projects or otherwise obtain the required skills through universities, institutes, networks or collaborations.
This role need structure to be able to document the results obtained and, when appropriate, present the results to the customer. It also mean that you will contribute to the knowledge sharing through courses and seminars internally and externally. You develop and update manuals and other course materials in your profession.
Your qualifications
You should have a bachelor degree from technical college or university in material engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent and preferably have knowledge about wear. Good knowledge of strength theory, mechanic, design and CAD. Experience from planning and performing laboratory and field testing is beneficial. The work will be both in teams but also independently and you should have good analytical ability. You need to be good in translating theories into practice and be able to explain this easily. You must have a driving license. We are a global company but also leading in the Nordic market. So to be successful in this role you speak and write English fluently and Swedish is very meritorious but also other languages. The travelling is around 60 days per year so you should enjoy meeting people and learn new cultures. Work Location is Oxelösund.

About the position
Hardox Wearparts is the world´s largest network of wear service centers. They provide aftermarket service such as wear parts and wear solutions that keep industries up and running with optimized productivity and service life. Today there are over 500 centers in 75 countries, selling wear solutions in Hardox® Wear plate, Strenx, Toolox or Duroxite.
You will work in close cooperation with the Wear Services Sales Manager, the international marketing team, and the full SSAB sales organization worldwide. You will be responsible for the Hardox® Wearparts brand strategy, the Hardox® Wearparts marketing budget and activities that include marketing of the Hardox® Wearparts centers. The most important marketing channels are web, social media, exhibitions, ads, and sales support material.
We want you to take bold and creative initiatives with an end-customer perspective. The Hardox® Wearparts brand is about communicating the value for the direct customer, about the performance of the end-customer, and about making a lighter, stronger, and more sustainable world.
Your qualifications
You have a creative and curious mind, with strong documented project management skills. You think broadly and strategically, grasp new insights and understand complicated contexts in a matrix organization. Your passion is marketing and technical products. Education background is M.Sc. in Technology or master degree in Marketing. We think you have working experience of approximately at least 5-10 years in similar fields. Experience of international business or commerce is valued and you will be able to use your networking skills in this role.Experience with workshops and/or equipment from steel is highly appreciated.To succeed you focus on customer value and have the drive to lead and plan your own work. You are result-and taskoriented and keep up to date with competitor information and market trends. Analytical thinking, the ability to convert ideas into actions and strong social skills are also capabilities you have today.
A high competence in English is expected and the candidate must be comfortable in delivering presentations to internal colleagues and customers. Swedish language have to be at a low basic level as a minimum and other language skills are appreciated.
You are expected to spend up to 30% of working time traveling for business (60-70 days/year). The position will be based in Oxelösund as a start since the network is very important.
